Arlington Asset Investment (formerly Friedman, Billings, Ramsey or FBR) is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in mortgages and related securities, equities, and other assets. But it is perhaps best known for its stake in FBR Capital Markets, which provides investment banking, institutional brokerage, and fee-based asset management services to corporations, institutions, and wealthy individuals.
